College Scholarships
Each year, Claiborne Electric Cooperative awards college scholarships during a drawing at the Co-op's Annual Meeting. The drawing is open to high school seniors who are Claiborne Electric members or children of Claiborne Electric members. Scholarship entry forms are available here. Entry forms will also be available at either of Claiborne Electric's offices, in the Co-op's monthly member newsletter Louisiana Country, or from any high school counselor in Claiborne Electric's service area.
Scholarship entrants need not be present at the Annual Meeting to win. They simply need to complete an entry form and mail it or deliver it to a Claiborne Electric office. Only one entry per student is permitted.
To be eligible for the scholarships, a student must meet the following terms and qualifications:
- Only high school seniors that have been Claiborne Electric members for at least one year, or are children of active members and have been residing in the household with the member for at least one year at the time of the drawing, will be eligible.
- The scholarships are only good for institutions of higher education in the state of Louisiana.
- Scholarship checks will be made out directly to the school and must be used within two years after being awarded for tuition, books, or room and board.
- Recipients will be eligible only once for the scholarship drawing.
Claiborne Electric's 2012 Annual Meeting will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Thomas Assembly Center on the campus of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. Entries should be received at Claiborne Electric by Friday, April 13, 2012, to provide sufficient time for verification of eligibility.
